So I wanted to tell a bit more about this track. First of all the title comes from the huge hurricane that was striking NYC last autumn. The music has a middle east ambiance but the reason why I named it Sandy aniways is the power that I feel in it. I always wanted to write a music with accustic elements in it and Sandy is the first track I’m satisfied with. I was working a lot on the ambiance in this track. The lowpassed and reverbed strings make me feel lost somewhere in a desert. You know the reason why I love these tracks so much is that I have a wholy story for each of them. And these storys or little films or whatever we call them take me to the title of them. Sandy is about a huge sandstorm destroying everything in its way. People hear only stories and myths about it because there are no survivors after it’s destruction. This is what the tracks introduction is about. Let’s say we have a character in our story whose eyes will serve as a camera for us. So after the breakdown our man/woman sees or feels something far away. Because our story takes place in the desert you can’t realy see from the sand dunes so all our hero sees are the black clouds and dust in the air. That is the fealing or atmosphere I wanted to give you by the bass of the strings. It generates some tension. This whole part is the silence before the storm.
And as you possibly expected the drop reveals the great relentles Sandy and its power. A bad thing about this story is that our hero doesn’t realy has a chance. So yes… Sandy punishes everything on its way.
So now here you go, enjoy Sandy while you can:
I hope you enjoyed this little story and the music itself. I make all this primarily for myself but I realy like to share what I enjoyed to create.
